Left-handed Jeremy Affeldt and right-handed reliever Jorge Julio were the only two Rockies of the 57 major-leaguers to file for free agency Monday. Both had good seasons for Colorado. In Affeldt's case, he might have priced himself out of the Rockies' budget, posting a 3.51 ERA in 75 games. Affeldt, as he correctly pointed out, "is not a left-handed specialist," which will increase his value

3 Vote(s)

I just read an article that said David Eckstein has filed for free agency. What if it came down to David and Kaz wanting a similar salary? I think it is a question worth thinking about. David Eckstein does something things that we might like in a #2 hitter. He rarely strikes out and gets on base quite a lot. I think the Rockies could sign him and move him to 2nd base, and I don't think the defen

3 Vote(s)

Well the Rockies picked up another pitcher that had a ERA near 6 last year to go with Buchholz and Hirsh.Time to drop this dead weight from our 40 man roster.

3 Vote(s)

I went and saw the rising stars game last friday in surprise az (phoenix suberb) and dexter fowler looked awsome.he handled the pitchers better than anyone in his lineup, hit some solid line drives, worked some 0-2 count to his favor, had two hits, and stole a base. he really looks like the real deal and it should be interesting to see when he gets called up. I say next year.

4 Vote(s)

If the Rockies want to take a significant step in the next two years, they need to mix in a couple more veterans with their stud young players. Posada is a guy who could have a HUGE impact in Colorado over the next two years. He calls one of the best games of any catcher, and is a proven gap to gap switch hitting catcher. I know what you are all saying while reading this. He is too expensive. Wel

4 Vote(s)
